## Advanced Options Overview

Beyond the standard settings, **Printery** offers advanced controls for professional workflows and complex projects.

## Advanced Document Options

### Custom Page Boxes

**PDF contains multiple "boxes" defining different boundaries**:

    **Auto-calculated**: Based on design size + bleed + mark spacing

    **Manual override** (Pro):

    **Definition**: Design edge including bleed

    **Contains**: Design + bleed extension

    ```

    **Auto-set**: Based on bleed settings

### Multi-Page Settings

    * Saddle-stitch booklets
    * Folded brochures
    * Self-printing booklets

    **Caution**: Ask printer if they need this or will impose themselves

    **Problem**: Inner pages in thick booklets shift

    **Solution**: Adjust inner margins progressively

    ```

## Advanced Color Options

### Custom Black Generation

**Fine-tune how black is created**:

    **Early (30-40%)**:

    * Black added sooner
    * Lower total CMY
    * Reduced TAC

    **Medium (50%)** ✓ Standard:

    * Balanced approach

    * Black only in shadows
    * More CMY in midtones
    * Richer appearance

    **Example**:

    Gray value < 50% → CMY only
    Gray value ≥ 50% → CMY + K
    ```

    **Conservative (80-90%)**:

    * Safer, more CMY support
    * Lower risk

    **Standard (95-100%)** ✓:

    * Maximum depth
    * Normal practice

    **Standard**: 300% (profile default)

    **Warning**: Only change if printer specifies

    **Example**:

### Spot Color Advanced Settings

**Pro feature - detailed spot color control**:

    * Spot prints over CMYK

    * Spot knocks out background
    * No mixing

    **How it works**:

    ```

    **Warning**: Not exact match!

    **Better**: Keep as spot if color-critical

### PDF Optimization
